what is goldfish seen in many parts of SGYD ?

after digging for sometime i found
    https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/goldfish/

please correct me if i got somthing wrong or teach me

    points i know
    1. it has somthing to doo with FPU (i still need to read the article on fpu)
    2. The Android emulator runs a virtual CPU that Google calls Goldfish.
    3. Goldfish executes ARM926T instructions and has hooks for input and
output -- such as reading key presses from or displaying video output
in the emulator. These interfaces are implemented in files specific to
the Goldfish emulator and will not be compiled into a kernel that runs
      on real devices.

so do this means sgyd runs android on a emulator ??
